“Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7 Then the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man”.
Reflection:
The story gives us the ability to forgive and be forgiven. I really like how God, ask the paralyzed man to go take his mat and get home. He is really capable in healing us not just physically but more of emotionally and spiritually. This verses really talked to me. It pierce through my heart. I am feeling hatred towards someone but who I am? that I cannot give him my forgiveness.
Why are we going to entertain those negative thoughts in our hearts when we are capable of changing it and continue going into our life. Why we are continue to stay in keep ourselves in those sad and painful memories when we are capable of doing things that can make us grow and happy.
And once we are able to say “I forgive you” or “I am sorry” that’s the start of allowing our Lord, Jesus Christ and savior to enter and be in our hearts. We can show our praises to him. So let’s keep our ourselves free from this burden and judgement. 🙂 Only then we can be truly achieve HAPPINESS.
